Catalist

Stack: Javascript, Python, React.js, Tailwind CSS, SASS, Docker, FastAPI, MongoDB, OAuth 2.0

Description: Catalist is a Pokemon-themed task-tracking and journaling application. Most of the frontend functionality was built using Javascript and React.js components. We used React hooks, state management, and event handlers to make our forms submit data to the backend and redirect users upon succesful submission. A lot of our styling was done using a combination of CSS, Tailwind CSS, and SASS. The backend was built on a FastAPI framework using Python and MongoDB. JWT was used for authentication.

Personal contributions: Used Python to build the FastAPI for the user accounts; implemented the JWT authentication; built the login form, signup form, and footer using Javascript and React.js; used React.js to implement conditional rendering depending on if an authenticated user was logged in or not; and used Tailwind and SASS to add styling to login/signup forms and several buttons.

React Native Jobs

Stack: Javascript, Typescript, React Native

Description: React Native Jobs is a job-search mobile application built using React Native and Expo. It integrates a third-party API to scrape job postings from the internet and present them to the user. It possesses a functional search bar that returns job postings that match the user's input. Finally, users can click on the "Apply" button to be redirected to the original job posting.

Hi, my name's Landon. I'm a certfied ESL teacher and published author who has spent the past several years working with students from all over the globe. Despite my love for teaching, I decided that it was time for a change, and am currently in the process of transitioning to a career in software development. I recently completed an immersive fullstack development bootcamp where I learned to create responsive and polished websites and applications from scratch. I am constantly learning more and trying to acquire more skills and hone my craft. When I'm not working or hitting the books, you can probably catch me playing videogames, hitting the gym, or hanging out with my two cats.
